South Beach Wine & Food Festival virtual mixology course
Lee Brian Schrager of the South Beach Wine & Food Festival is developing a 20-part virtual mixology series that will allow viewers to learn the art of cocktail from St John’s best bartenders. On Friday June 12th at 7pm, Kyu’s Bar Manager James MacInnes will be the first to teach you how to make his favorite Asian-style cocktails. Chat Chow’s Gio Gutierrez, co-host of the series, will provide color commentary and help MacInnes make the beverages. Each virtual class is conducted through Zoom and costs $ 20. Participants will receive a code to join, along with the recipes and ingredients list so they can join in at home. You can also ask questions in real time. So, if you want to know if you can replace lime juice with lemon juice or how to make simple syrup, this is your chance to consult a bartender master. All proceeds from the courses will be donated directly to the FIU Hospitality Industry Relief Fund, which funds independent and operated restaurants and bars affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in St John-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties. To date, the fund has paid more than $ 1.6 million to hundreds of restaurants in South Florida. The first virtual class starts on Friday June 12th at 7pm.
