Fashionable American delicacies makes its debut at a sublime New South St John outpost

Grove Bay Hospitality Group continues its dominance of South St John’s food scene by opening its third restaurant in the neighborhood. Public place (6915 Red Road). The new restaurant takes over the former Shula room 347 – the group’s first restaurant – and offers modern American dishes, a west coast wine list and elegant new surroundings.

On the menu, guests will find many updated classics such as filet mignon snacks wrapped in bacon. grilled squid; poached lobster; Salmon crab rolls; variety of grilled steaks; Mushroom risotto; Branzino; and much more. The wine list shows vintages from the west coast with lots of wines by the glass and even offers a wine cellar program that allows members to have a personalized “wine cellar” where the restaurant can keep their favorite bottles to drink. There is also a full bar with cocktails by Nick Casanova.

The room has been fundamentally redesigned since Shula’s time. The quartz bar anchors the room with a green leather upholstered cabin, brass chandeliers that illuminate the room, and tables that alternate in earth tones and offer space for 170 people. An additional private dining room can accommodate up to 60 people.

The restaurant debuts tomorrow, October 23rd, and is open Sunday through Thursday from 5pm to 10pm and Friday and Saturday from 5pm to 11pm. Brunch is offered in the later months. To make a reservation call 305-665-9661.
