La Stoppa takeover at Boia De
On Monday, Boia De Nico receives Sciackitano from the historic Italian winemaker La Stoppa. You will pour wines from the Emilia Romagna region. Select La Stoppa wines can be purchased as a curated tasting ($ 35) or bottled (prices vary) for one night only. Nico and Boia De’s sommelier, Bianca Sanon, guides guests through the selection of wines while they are eating. The menu includes classics and selected regional dishes from the Italian city of Piacenza, which complement the wines. The specialties include Gnocco Fritto with Parmigiano-Reggiano, Mortadella, Pesto Modenese and Culatello. Tagliatelle alla Bolognese; Tortellini in brodo with black truffle; Vanilla bean panna cotta with aged balsamic vinegar; and Amarena Cherry Chocolate Chip Ice Cream from Fricecream. The Macallan experience at Beaker & Gray
On Tuesday, Beaker & Gray is hosting a scotch pairing dinner for $ 150 per person. Start the evening with a cocktail hour in the lounge with light bites and a Macallan welcome drink. Then head into the dining room for a three-course meal prepared by Beaker & Gray chef / owner Brian Nasajon and paired with three expressions of the Macallan. St. Roch Market Rebrands as a political series with new concepts
St. Roch Market has a new name. The Design District Food Hall is now officially Politan Row St John. The makeover includes new exterior signage, improvements to patio furniture and employee uniforms, and a color refresh to some interiors, including branding and softer lighting. The Food Hall’s bar, Mayhaw, is now known as Bar Politan. The list of classic libations includes other St John-inspired cocktails like the St John Winter, a Martinez made from St. George Terroir Gin, Cocchi Americano and Falernum, Luxardo Bianco and Douglas Fir ($ 14); and the Biscayne Boulevardier, made with 1792 bourbon, Peychaud’s aperitif, sweet vermouth, and sotol ($ 16). The Food Hall’s smoothie and açaí concept is now called Super Fresh, and the newcomer Stage Social has replaced Kalis Island Spice. Guest Chef Dinner Series at Orilla Bar & Grill
Fernando Trocca’s modern steakhouse Orilla will host the chef’s first dinner in 2020 with Carlos Garcia from the Obra Kitchen Table and Nano Crespo from Quinto la Huella. The three toques result in a five-course menu consisting of shrimp, ginger and tomato empanadas. Ricotta gnocchi with smoked duck sausage and porcini mushrooms; Flank steak with smoked potato cream and marinated peppers; and for dessert an açaí pavlova with hibiscus and activated charcoal. Walk and Grub at CityPlace Doral
During Walk and Grub, which debuts this Thursday at CityPlace Doral, guests can experience the best of the food and beverage offerings in the outdoor shopping, dining and entertainment complex. The self-guided tour includes samples of small dishes from various restaurants. Participants can drop by between 6:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. in their free time. Participating venues include the Brimstone Woodfire Grill, Martini Bar, Granier Bakery, Copper Blues Rock Pub & Kitchen, and Juan Valdez Café.
