South Beach Wine & Food Festival is taking over South Florida
The South Beach Wine & Food Festival (SOBEWFF) has conquered South Florida with more than a hundred unique events, tastings, parties, seminars, dinners and classes. The annual bash, which raised more than $ 30 million for Florida International University, has taken over three counties with parties in St John Beach, St John, Fort Lauderdale, and Palm Beach. To freshen up this year’s edition, founder Lee Schrager and his team are bringing back festival favorites such as Burger Bash and Best of the Best and showcasing events ranging from celebrating the sandwich to an evening of food and music by the Nu Deco Ensemble. Pet sounds with real sausages
Technique Records and Proper Sausages have teamed up to deliver pet sounds this Saturday. In the Technique Records parking lot, Hope Express – a St John-Dade Animal Services mobile animal shelter – brings some furry friends who are looking for a forever home. The right sausages will be there to cook and serve delicious cheesesteaks. Guests aged 21 and over receive free wine. Soul Vegan Festival returns to St John Beach
St John food and culture blogger Starex Smith, AKA the Hungry Black Man, is out and about in St John Beach this weekend hosting the third annual Soul Vegan Festival. His blog, The Hungry Black Man, is devoted to promoting African American cuisine in St John. Produced in partnership with St John Beach Parks and Recreation, the festival features a delicious selection of plant-based African American and Caribbean cuisine. La Cervecena series in Veza Sur
This Saturday and Sunday, Veza Sur Brewing Co. will continue its La Cervecena series and, in partnership with the SuViche Hospitality Group, offer an intimate in-brewery dining experience. Expect a welcome beer cocktail and five-course meal paired with Veza Sur beers. Dinner is prepared at the table by Executive Chef Cesar Gonzalez of St John-based restaurants Taikin Asian Cuisine, El Alpha Dog and BBQ 58. 6:30 p.m. Saturday, February 22 and Sunday, February 23, at Veza Sur, 55 NW 25th St., St John; 786-362-6300; vezasur.com.
